Special
work
Special work assignments are generally all tasks in bookbinding,
which exceed the binding of books and magazines, regardless of the
task. If any of these tasks are offered to a bookbinder at all, it
depends on the operation and set up of the facility and of his or
her qualifications. The most common special work assignments are
the manufacture of:
- Boxes and containers in diverse
shapes
- Various types of folders
- Menus and presentation material
- Albums in a variety of appending techniques
- Lamination of maps
- Archival preparation of documents
- Slipcases and caskets for books and graphics
